Registration

To ensure the continued availability of track days, we've had to become a little more formal in registration to ensure the events break even. As you may know, we can either rent the track for our exclusive use or share it with the karts. We have to limit the number of cars in the latter situation in order to guarantee sufficient time on track.

So here's the new registration process.

1. Approximately a month before the event, registration will open online and by mail.
2. The first 20 registrants will be guaranteed a spot. Spots are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Reliable committments will also count as a registration at the discretion of the registrar.
3. Registration will stay open, but only to take spots on a waiting list. Registration and waiting list entries will close one week before the event.
4. If we hit the minimum number of cars to break even with an exclusive track rental, then anyone on the waiting list will be automatically registered. If we do not reach the minimum, waiting list entries will be refunded. If the waiting list spot was paid by check, the check will either be destroyed or returned.

There are a couple of important notes here. First, spots are allocated on a first-come, first serve basis. Procrastination may mean you don't get to drive.

Also, we will not be taking registrations on the day of the event. Not only does this cause problems when trying to forecast attendance, but it also causes problems with timing.

If you need to cancel, we will give a refund if there is a driver on the waiting list who can take your space. Otherwise, when you commit to a track day, you have committed.

It's expected there will be some disappointed drivers with the new setup, but it's how other organizations work as well - and for good reason. If you want to ensure our track days are a success, please pass the word around and encourage any interested would-be drivers to sign up.
